
“In order to move towards EU accession and prosper afterwards, it is necessary to finalize important reforms that we have already started. Justice reform – so that all Moldovans feel that justice is finally being established and the law is the same for everyone. Energy security – important for citizens and for business. Education reform – so that the new generations will be competitive, able to cope with the technological and economic transformations of the future. Administrative-territorial reform – so that local authorities can use European funds for the development of territories,” said Maia Sandu.
She thanked Alexandru Munteanu for assuming “responsibility in a difficult period for our country, as well as for the whole region”.
“Starting from today, we need a government that will be more focused on development and will complete the transformation of Moldova into a modern European state,” the head of state said.
According to the president, Moldova needs “bold measures” to ensure economic development, attract investments, increase competitiveness and productivity.
The day before, the Moldovan Parliament approved the new government headed by Alexandru Munteanu by 55 votes out of 101. The Prime Minister described the cabinet as focused on economic growth and EU integration. The “EU, WORLD, DEVELOPMENT” program includes measures to develop the economy, attract investments, increase competitiveness, reforms of justice, education, administrative-territorial structure and energy security.
