This allowed to supply Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of artillery ammunition, hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles, spare parts for weapons, as well as conclude new contracts on maintenance and repair of equipment and military transport, according to the UK government website.

Over the past 50 days Ukraine has received from the UK 4.7 million rounds of small arms ammunition, 60 thousand artillery shells, rockets and missile systems, more than 2.5 thousand drones, more than 200 electronic warfare systems, 100 light weapons, 30 vehicles and additional equipment to counter drones and air defense systems, the statement said.

The defense secretary as well as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made it clear that the kingdom’s national security “begins in Ukraine.” “The United Kingdom remains committed to ensuring a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, with £4.5 billion spent on military support for Ukraine this year,” Downing Street said.

While in Kiev, Healey also co-chaired an online meeting of the “Coalition of the willing” with representatives from more than 30 countries to discuss the creation of a multinational force that would be deployed to Ukraine in the event of a peace deal, the British agency noted. Healy told participants in the virtual meeting that the UK was reviewing army equipment and accelerating funding to ensure readiness for any deployment of forces to Ukraine.

At the same time, Britain imposed sanctions against three Russian organizations and eight individuals. The list includes, among others, the mother of Chechen head Aimani Kadyrov and the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation. The updated list also includes the pro-Kremlin youth organizations Movement of the First and Volunteers of Victory. The new sanctions measures are directed against those who support “forced ideological processing in Russia against the background of the ongoing war against Ukraine”.
