Investments in republican hospitals exceeded 250 million lei

More than 250 million lei have been invested in Moldova's republican hospitals in 2025 to equip modern operating departments, purchase equipment for magnetic resonance imaging and other purposes, Logos Press reports.

Investments in republican hospitals exceeded 250 million lei

This was announced at a press conference of the Ministry of Health to summarize the 2025 results.

In the past year, the ministry focused its efforts on bringing medical care closer to citizens and improving patient safety, the ministry said. Among the key achievements of 2025 were named:

– Decentralization of chemotherapy services in 5 district hospitals (Briceni, Floresti, Singerei, Orhei and Cahul);

– reorganization of the perinatal service at the national level and modernization of emergency medical care through the creation of emergency departments;

– opening of an A category emergency department at the Balti Clinical Hospital, with an investment of 55 million lei;

– equipping district hospitals with modern equipment for computer tomography and digital radiography;

– development of oncological potential by installing linear gas pedals and significantly reducing the waiting time for radiation therapy.

At the same time, significant investments have been made in combating hospital-acquired infections, equipping blood transfusion units and renovating dozens of hospital wards across the country.

In addition, the Ministry of Health continued to align national legislation with EU standards by modernizing the regulatory framework in the areas of tobacco control, medicines, occupational health and safety, food safety and drinking water quality. In 2025, the verification process of the health chapter was completed and Moldova’s progress was recognized in the EU enlargement package.
