Glodeni has already started the final stage of creating an industrial platform. Eduard Cugui, head of the department for investment attraction and industrial development at the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, told Logos Press that investors from Romania are preparing to produce construction materials and export them, including for the reconstruction of Ukraine. The information was announced within the Dialog Pro-Industrie forum organized by the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 3 October.
According to the amendments made this year to the legislation on industrial parks, the administration of the platforms is taken over by local governments. The state participates in the creation of the necessary infrastructure for them, which is transferred to the balance of local authorities. Central authorities can also invest in the construction of ready-made production facilities. Assets are transferred to the management for a period of 30 years.
To date, 12 industrial parks have been created in Moldova (including the two platforms mentioned above). Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers granted industrial park status to Moldova HiTech Park.
As for industrial platforms, this tool, as it was mentioned at the forum, is planned to be massively launched from 2027-2028. Their number will depend on the degree of readiness, including of local authorities, to create and manage them. But each of them is planned to house at least 6-7 production facilities.
This summer, the government approved the State Program for the creation and development of industrial parks for 250 million lei, of which 50 million lei are budgeted for 2025. This program is a continuation of the previous initiative to create 18 multifunctional industrial platforms, which was launched in 2019. For some time, the initiative was forgotten and remained without funding from the budget. But in recent years, pilot projects in Glodeni and Oknica were launched, where funds were invested to create industrial platforms.
The new program envisages both the construction of new industrial parks and platforms and the modernization or expansion of existing ones. The implementation period of the program is 40 months with the possibility of expansion.
