Last August, the mayor of Balti, Alexandru Petkov, announced plans to install video surveillance cameras in the city’s trolleybuses. He explained it by the fact that the City Hall receives many complaints about conductors’ behavior, which does not meet the norm. The cameras will make it possible to see whether the conductor or the passenger is to blame for the incident.
The management of the Trolleybus Department confirmed in the summer that the company has camera kits that have been in storage since 2020. Each set is designed to install five cameras per vehicle.
This week, during a meeting of the mayor’s office management with representatives of public utilities, the management of the Trolleybus Department was obliged to speed up the process and equip all city trolleybuses with cameras in the near future.
