These funds covered more than 600 thousand cases of treatment in hospitals. These include complex interventions: cardiovascular surgery, cataract surgery, large joint prosthetics, transplants and other high-tech procedures.

Out of the total number of hospitalizations, about 532 thousand cases (88.3%) were acute and 71 thousand (11.7%) were chronic. More than half of all hospitalizations (over 340,000) were emergencies, the rest were planned, mostly referred by family physicians or specialized specialists.

Separately, about 112 thousand bed-days were financed in the field of phthisiatrics, amounting to more than 141 million lei.

The most demanded operation in 2025 was cataract removal: more than 14,200 interventions were performed, which is 2,000 more than in 2024. Over 164 million lei from the mandatory health insurance funds were allocated for these operations.

Also financed were about 21,000 radiotherapy sessions for cancer patients (about 15 million lei) and more than 6,000 dialysis sessions for hospitalized patients (over 12 million lei).

In 2025, the National Health Insurance Company concluded contracts with 76 providers of inpatient medical services: 17 republican, 9 municipal, 35 district, 4 departmental and 11 private institutions.
