
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the sector has been growing steadily since the stagnation of 2020-2021. The consumption of ice cream on the domestic market, despite a noticeable increase in prices, is constantly growing.
Exports of the sweet product to other countries are also increasing. In 2024, 3,280 tons of ice cream were shipped to foreign markets. The export geography includes Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Romania, Cote d’Ivoire, Kosovo, Albania and Ghana.
At the same time, 2,334 tons of ice cream were imported last year. This is also a record. In 2020, for example, imports were half as much – 1,140 tons.
The largest share of imports last year came from Ukraine (1309 tons). The rest came from Belarus, Romania, Germany, Hungary, Poland and France.
