I really need the rain

Winter crops are still in satisfactory condition at the moment. But flowering crops of moisture-loving rape are already under severe stress. Even the more drought-tolerant wheat is beginning to yellow its leaves. In the first decade of May, i.e. in the key stage of spring vegetation of winter crops, precipitation is critically needed.

In mid-March, according to the calculations of the Hydrometeorological Service of RM, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil in the north of the country were 80-105%, in the center – 90-110%, in the south – 80-90% of the norm.

However, since then, as agricultural producers note, the situation has drastically changed for the worse. In April, in many regions of the country there were strong winds and frosts with periods of sharp warming, which dried up the soil.

According to the meteorological forecast, next week, the long-lasting precipitation expected by agrarians will finally fall.
