At its meeting on 28 May, the government approved a programme for the implementation of the Digital Transformation Strategy for 2025-2027. It defines the actions needed to achieve the strategic goals in the digitalisation field. The programme defines three main directions – the development of the digital society, the development of the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector and the digital economy, as well as the e-transformation of the public sector.
The programme includes important measures such as developing digital infrastructure, expanding access to the Internet, increasing the use of electronic public services, strengthening digital identity, promoting electronic signatures and developing the digital skills of the population. In addition, initiatives for the digitalisation of education and the medical sector are included.
Implementation of the Programme by the end of 2027 will contribute to accelerating the growth of the national economy. The share of ICT services exports is expected to increase to 14 per cent, up from 10 per cent two years ago. Also, 2.7 billion lei will be allocated annually for investments in the IT sector. Entrepreneurs will receive 85 per cent of public services online, while active digital identification will become a reality for 45 per cent of citizens. At the same time, the Programme will contribute to creating opportunities for young people through the two digital hubs created.
The implementation programme of the Digital Transformation Strategy for 2025-2027 is part of the Digital Transformation Strategy of the Republic of Moldova for 2023-2030, which sets the directions of digital development in our country.
