GMW 2026 activities are aimed at increasing financial literacy among various categories of the population, from schoolchildren and students to employees and citizens interested in the field of public finance.
The Ministry of Finance joined the initiative for the first time in 2021 by launching a national financial education campaign.
As previously reported logos-press.md, the NBM events within Global Money Week will help the target audience (mainly children and young people) to make responsible financial decisions.
The Financial Education Week started this year with a public lecture by the NBM Governor Anca Dragoo. She spoke about the financial responsibility of citizens and about the elections that can influence their personal and professional path.
The program also includes interactive master classes and daily study sessions to learn how monetary policy decisions are made, what digitalization means in the financial system and what are the basic rules for safe online payments.
Also within Global Money Week, excursions to the NBM exhibition hall will be organized, where it will be possible to listen to a brief history of the national currency, to admire the collection of jubilee and commemorative gold and silver coins, as well as to learn about the security elements of the Moldovan leu.
The Global Money Week is an international initiative launched 14 years ago and supported by the OECD. 176 countries, including Moldova, have joined this initiative.
