On Friday, February 13, unknown persons broke into the basement of Volksbank through a light well. The amount of damage caused is still unknown, as the contents of the safes are a bank secret.

Bank robberies in Germany occur in winter

Earlier, the Sparkasse bank in the center of Bonn was robbed: valuables worth a large sum, mostly gold, were stolen from the safes. Another robbery – a branch of Sparkasse Bank in Gelsenkirchen – is called one of the largest in Germany. In the bank’s vault, 3,200 boxes containing money, gold and other jewelry were broken into. The criminals entered the bank from an adjacent parking lot by punching through a wall. According to some reports, the amount of damage exceeds 100 million euros.

In the city of Halle during the working day unknown persons broke into four safe deposit boxes. And on January 29, 18 safe deposit boxes at the Sparkasse branch in Wilhelmshaven were broken into. Whether there is a connection between all these robberies has not yet been established.
