At the other “price pole”, in the orchards, the producers of apples for processing make attempts, sometimes successful, to lower the purchase price for this raw material below the level of a week ago – 2.3-2.4 lei/kg. Naturally, farmers are not satisfied with this development of events, but they are forced to adjust to the market conditions.
By the way, the problem of low (twice lower than in October last year) prices for industrial apple was raised at yesterday’s reporting press conference of the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry MAIA Lyudmila Catlabuga. In this regard, the head of the ministry noted that the prices for apple concentrate on the world market have also significantly decreased compared to last year’s level.
Earlier Logos Press wrote that under the influence of upward adjustments in the forecasts of the 2025 harvest in Poland, as well as cold and rainy weather in a number of Central and Eastern European countries, the flow of apples for processing has increased, while the price of this raw material has decreased. According to the heads of canning factories, at the moment the prices for industrial apple in Moldova and Ukraine are almost equalized – about 0.14 euros/kg (about 6.8-7 hryvnias/kg).
