The squad includes 24 players, seven of whom play in the Moldovan Super League, the rest play in foreign championships (see table). Seven players have never been on the field in the Tricolor shirts: Ion Bors, Ilya Botnari, Mihail Gerasimenkov, Mihail Lupan, Danila Forov, Vladimir Fratia and Mihail Stefan. At the same time, Botnar, Lupan, Forov and Fratja were called up to the national team for the first time.

Among Moldovan clubs, Petrocub (Hincesti) has the largest representation in the squad, whose head coach Popescu was in 2017-2022 and is now its sports manager.

After the match against Norway (1:11), there were changes in the national team of Moldova. In particular, the veteran of “tricolor”, 35-year-old midfielder of “Triestina Calcio” (Italy) Artur Ionitsa and striker of “Zrinjski Mostar” (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Vitali Damascan were not included in the application.

The national team of Moldova will play two matches in October. A friendly with Romania will be held on October 9 in Bucharest, while the European qualifier for the World Cup against Estonia is scheduled for October 14 in Tallinn.

After two rounds, the “tricolor” occupy the last, 5th place in Group I of the qualifying tournament. The standings are headed by the national team of Norway with 6 points, the national teams of Estonia and Israel – on the second and third positions, respectively. The Italian national team will enter the fight on June 6 with a match against Norway.
