In its press release on the launch of the process of subsidizing agricultural producers this year, the Agriculture and Food Ministry notes that 2.326 billion lei have been reserved for this purpose in the state budget-2026.
At the same time, information about debts on farmers’ subsidies for the previous years has repeatedly appeared in the information field. According to optimistic estimates, the debts exceed 3 billion lei, while according to pessimistic estimates, they are close to 4 billion lei. In other words, the budgetary funds for the repayment of debts to farmers, if the process continues at the same pace, will not be enough for long. And not all of them.
