
All these data will be entered into an electronic logbook that will become an integral part of the State Phytosanitary Register on the e-ANSA platform.
The corresponding regulation was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture (MAIA). Technical support and training are provided to facilitate the transition of agricultural producers to the new system of sanitation records.
According to MAIA State Secretary Sergiu Gerciu, as quoted in the Ministry’s press release, the transition to electronic record keeping will allow for full traceability of all pesticide applications, reduce errors and increase the efficiency of control by the authorities.
The decision to introduce electronic record keeping was taken against the background of numerous violations, the Agriculture Ministry said. In recent years, more than 200 cases of unauthorized pesticide use and improper maintenance of paper registers have been documented.
