According to according to Euronews, some flights have been canceled at Belgrade airport. Authorities warned that heavy rain with snow and hail predicted by forecasters in the central part of the country will hamper traffic and may cause power outages in the coming days.
In neighboring Croatia – also cold and also multi-kilometer traffic jams. Cleaning equipment is constantly working on highways, but national roads are covered with snow and partially unusable. For the Dalmatia region, forecasters are predicting heavy downpours – up to the threat of flooding.
Western Europe is also atypically cold and snowy. In the Netherlands, against this background, international Eurostar trains are not running, many dozens of flights have been canceled. Amsterdam airport became the epicenter of delays.
And snowfall in the northern part of France caused traffic disruptions and large-scale traffic jams: on Monday their length in the Ile-de-France metropolitan area reached first 790, and closer to the evening – 900 kilometers. Against the background of snowstorms in 26 departments announced an “orange” warning, activated special mode of limiting the speed of transport to 80 km / h.
Meteorologists warn that cold weather and snowfalls in most European countries will persist until the end of this week.
