These funds were received by 620 enterprises. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the money was transferred gradually and partially covered electricity consumption in January, February, March and partially in April 2025.
Recently, the Organization for Enterprise Development (ODA) transferred a new tranche of MDL 17.1 million for the energy consumed by companies in the second half of March and early April. This amount is in addition to the previously allocated 24.5 million lei.
The compensation program was launched in January 2025 and is aimed at mitigating the effects of rising energy prices. “Through this measure, the Moldovan government and the EU support Moldovan companies, helping them to maintain their activity, jobs and competitiveness,” the ministry said in a press release.
For companies, the application process is quite convenient as it is done online. Eligible companies can apply on the EVO app or through the MCabinet portal in the special “Compensation” module. The program has been adjusted to best fit the needs of the business environment. Among the most important changes are three – extending the application period from 10 to 30 days from the billing date; eliminating the requirement to increase the number of beneficiaries; and extending the program for the entire year 2025 instead of the originally planned three-month period.
