According to Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolia, after an additional allocation of 40 million euros, the total amount of financing provided by the EBRD will reach 290 million euros. The funds will be used to finance the reconstruction works of national roads included in the project “Rehabilitation of Roads in Moldova IV”, including the provision of project consulting services and technical supervision of reconstruction and modernization works.
The money is earmarked for the rehabilitation of road R14, R6 – Novi Codru-Novi Codru-Soroca-Unguri-Ukrainian border, on the Soroca-Arionesti section; road R8.1, R8-Arionesti-R14, on the Arionesti-Ataki section; road M3 Chisinau-Comrat-Djurgiulesti-Romanian border on the Vulcanesti bypass section; road R33 Hincesti-Lapusna-M1.
The loan agreement between Moldova and EBRD for road construction and rehabilitation works was ratified in 2013 and has been amended 4 times since the current amendment. This, among other things, was affected by the increase in the price of materials for the works.
