
The members of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration approved the advisory opinion to start negotiations and sign the amendment to the relevant Loan Agreement.
After the allocation of additional 40 million euros, the total amount of financing from the EBRD will reach 290 million euros. This money is being used for the reconstruction of national roads under the project “Road Rehabilitation in Moldova IV”, including the provision of consulting services and technical supervision of the works.
The additional funds are intended for the rehabilitation of the following national roads:
– road R14, R6 – Codrul Nou – Soroca – Ungur – border with Ukraine, on the section Soroca – Arionesti;
– road R8.1, R8 – Arionesti – R14, section Arionesti – Otaci;
– road M3 Chisinau – Comrat – Giurgiulesti – border with Romania, section of Vulcanesti bypass road;
– road R33 Hincesti – Lăpuşna – M1.
The loan agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the EBRD for road construction and rehabilitation works was ratified in 2013 and has been amended three times since then.
The amendments to the agreement are subject to final ratification by the Parliament.
