Former director Victor Bostan sold 2 million shares, representing 5% of the share capital. With a public offer price of 21 Romanian lei per share, Bostan, who brought the Moldovan wine producer to the top of the regional market, received 8.26 million euros.
However, Amboselt Universal, a company controlled by Bostan, which previously held a 20.03% stake, remains as a shareholder of Purcari Wineries with a 15.08% stake.
He is not the only seller of this magnitude. Firebird Funds, which exceeded the 5% ownership threshold in the February 2023 transactions, has withdrawn as a shareholder. The sale was accomplished through two investment companies, Firebird Avrora Advisors LLC and Firebird Management LLC.
Also following the transaction, according to the latest data provided by the intermediary, Groupe Société Générale, it is reported that Fiera Capital’s (formerly Charlemagne Capital) shareholding has fallen below 5%, but the document does not detail the number of remaining shares or the existence and size of the retained interest. Fiera Capital was one of the institutional investors that went public in an initial public offering in early 2018.
