The fund aims to develop an internal management system by the end of 2026 that will allow depositors to access an online compensation platform.
“This platform will allow depositors to quickly and securely check their eligibility for compensation, including receiving money online, without having to visit a bank branch. Development work has already begun and our goal is to launch the platform by the end of 2026,” said Dionis Catanoi, CEO of FGDSB.
This year, FGDSB increased the coverage limit for bank deposits from MDL 100,000 to MDL 200,000. This limit applies to all deposits and accounts opened in the same bank. Thus, if a person has savings in several banks, the limit of 200,000 lei is applied separately for each bank.
“FGDSB ensures the protection of depositors’ financial resources, both individuals and legal entities. The protection applies not only to term deposits, but also to current accounts, including funds available on cards. Almost all the money a person keeps in the bank is protected by the FGDSB within the coverage limit, which is currently 200,000 lei,” explained Dionis Catanoi.
