
To better understand the scale of this evolution, it is enough to recall 2017, when the trade turnover between the two countries was only $84.4 million – more than four times less than today.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Moldovan exports to the Czech Republic showed a 35.4% growth last year compared to 2023 and a 67% growth compared to 2017.
The main exported goods: wires and cables – $176.4 million (+38.7% compared to 2023); wines from fresh grapes – $8.7 million; sunflower seeds – $7.6 million (+320.2% compared to 2023); chairs – $4.1 million (+5.5% compared to the previous period); electrical appliances (sockets, switches, etc.) – $2.4 million (+320.2% compared to 2023).etc.) – $2.4 million (significant increase of 14,683% vs. 2023); jams, jellies, marmalades – $1.9 million dollars (+66% vs. 2023).
In turn, Moldova imports from the Czech Republic wires and cables, cars, vehicles for cargo transportation, pipes, batteries, auto parts and medicines.
In addition to trade, investment relations between our countries are gradually strengthening. Currently, 39 enterprises with Czech capital operate in Moldova, with total investments amounting to about 1.8 million lei.
