Cronograf and DescOperă festivals will receive state funding

Thanks to the expansion of the list, the Cronograf International Documentary Film Festival and the DescOperă International Open Air Classical Music Festival will receive national recognition, a guarantee of continuity and government support, as both represent unique events in the country’s cultural landscape.

To support the organization of the Cronograf festival in 2026, the government will allocate 2 million lei from the subprogram “Support for Cinematography”.

The DescOperă festival is already financed from the budget of the Ministry of Culture. Thus, in 2025, 3.8 million lei was allocated for its organization.

It should be noted that Cronograf is the only international documentary film festival in Moldova, which started in 2001.

DescOperă is a classical music festival held annually in Butuceni village of the cultural and natural reserve “Old Orhei”.
