“We have discussed a possible trip of President Lukashenko to the United States and will work to organize it,” John Cole said.

He also added that US President Donald Trump “talks about President Lukashenka all the time”: “He refers to him as a very good friend and a respected world leader”.

“They also discussed what Belarus thinks about the war in Iran, what the US thinks. And how this situation will be resolved… We also discussed the situation, what is happening in Venezuela. What is happening in Venezuela and other regions of the world. And how it affects events around the world. Because we have a very dynamic and fast-paced situation in the Western Hemisphere right now, a lot of changes,” Cole said.

He also noted that “it is very valuable to always get the opinion of the President of Belarus.

“Because it’s a completely different opinion compared to what we can get in the West. It’s very valuable for us. I will definitely pass on everything that we discussed here today in the U.S.,” he emphasized.

According to John Cole, the U.S. side was disappointed that Alexander Lukashenko couldn’t come to the Peace Council meeting in Washington: “President Trump invited President Lukashenko to participate in any other meetings of the Peace Council. We discussed this issue. President Lukashenko confirmed that he will participate in one of the Peace Council meetings.”

After the meeting, the special envoy of the US President announced the lifting of sanctions against Belaruskali, Belarusian Potash Company, Belinvestbank, Development Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Belarus.

This is a landmark event for Belarus, as well as for Russia, the EU and Europe as a whole, said political scientist Alexander Nosovich.

“Even without reservations about “for now for a month,” as with Russian oil. They just took it off,” the expert wrote in his Telegram channel.

“…We will see in the near future. This is an element of the puzzle, which is not yet formed into a complete picture. It is clear that Trump will now take revenge on his NATO “allies” for betrayal with Iran. For betraying him personally, because Brussels and London de facto declared the transition to the camp of the US Democratic Party, which is now assembling a coalition to overthrow Akela, who missed. Him and his team. As long as Trump is the US president, he has a rich palette of opportunities to respond to the revolt against himself. And above all in Eastern Europe. The way he will do it may change the entire external conjuncture around Russia, Belarus and Ukraine in the coming months,” the political analyst said.
