Of this amount, more than 970 million was paid to public suppliers, while about LE 60 million was paid to private suppliers.

These advance payments are necessary to ensure the continuous provision of medical services to the insured population in accordance with the volume and quality standards set in the Unified Program of Compulsory Health Insurance, CNAM said in a news release.

In accordance with the contracts concluded with medical institutions and the Criteria for Health Service Providers, CNAM makes payments for medical services provided by providers in two stages.

At the beginning of each month, advance payments of 80% of the amount planned for that month are made, and at the end of each reporting period, the remaining amount is transferred within the contractual provisions.

CNAM notes that the redistribution of financial resources for medical services provided to the population within the framework of compulsory health insurance is possible thanks to the good faith payment of insurance premiums by citizens.
