
To this end, the Chisinau City Council approved a draft Agreement with the EBRD on the grant and its utilization. Ala Myrza, Advisor to the Chisinau Mayor General, noted that the funds provided will cover the costs of hiring a consulting company to organize tenders, develop technical documentation and provide supervision services throughout the project.
The Bull River rehabilitation project is aimed at reducing the flood risk, improving the water quality and enhancing the sustainability of Chisinau’s infrastructure. Its total budget is €21 million, of which €4 million is a non-refundable grant.
At the same meeting, the councillors approved a decision on the implementation of projects for the development of Chisinau’s urban infrastructure. It concerns the extension and modernization of the Mircea cel Batryn boulevard, as well as of Mesazhier and Industriale streets. The total amount of financing is 74.3 million euros. Of this, 68.2 million euros will be provided through a loan agreement with the EBRD and 6.1 million euros through a grant related to the project. Of the grant amount, EUR 1.9 million will be allocated for the development of the 4th lake area in La Izvor Park, and EUR 4.2 million for technical support within the framework of the project implementation.
