The airport administration noted that the growth of indicators was both for departures and arrivals. Thus, the number of departing passengers in January-June increased by 48.3% to 1 million 250 thousand 107 passengers, while the number of arriving passengers increased by 50.2% to 1.208 million passengers. The average monthly figure increased, exceeding 409 thousand passengers per month.
The top 10 destinations included: Antalya – 253 thousand passengers, Istanbul – 214 thousand, London (Luton) – 173.6 thousand, Sharm el Sheikh – 172.7 thousand, Warsaw – 96.5 thousand, Bucharest – 95 thousand, Milan (Malpensa) – 92 thousand, Rome (Fiumicino) – 87 thousand, Vienna – 86 thousand, Tel Aviv – 78.5 thousand.
During half a year 10 new destinations were opened at Chisinau airport: Alicante (Spain), Bremen (Germany), Katowice (Poland), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Turin (Italy), Thessaloniki (Greece), El Dabaa (Egypt), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Lyon (France).
The total volume of cargo transported amounted to 1,201.8 tons.
