
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan emphasized that in terms of foreign economic relations, Belarus and China reached new heights last year. “According to Chinese statistics, in 2025 the trade turnover between China and Belarus exceeded the $8.86 billion mark for the first time in the history of our relationship, increasing by 5.5% year-on-year,” BelTA correspondent quoted Zhang Wenchuan as saying.
– Trade in agricultural products, exhibition activities and green economy developed dynamically. Cooperation in the construction of the global network of land and sea trade routes “One Belt, One Road” was also steadily advancing.
In recent years, the interest of Chinese investors in Belarus has been growing. Last year alone, 34 new residents were registered in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Veliky Kamen. And the total number of enterprises in it has now reached 171. The volume of Chinese investments in Belarus exceeded $1 billion.
The Ambassador also drew attention to the fact that the construction project of the National Football Stadium, built in Minsk with Chinese assistance, was successfully completed last year.
– The year of cooperation between China and Belarus in the field of science, technology and innovation has been successfully completed, and serious results have been achieved in joint research and creation of common platforms,” said Zhang Wenchuan. – According to the agreements reached at the sixth meeting of the intergovernmental committee, the two sides held the first meeting of the subcommittee on industrial cooperation, officially declaring 2026-2027 as the Years of Industrial Cooperation between China and Belarus. There is every reason to believe that in 2026, practical cooperation between the two countries will open up even broader prospects.
