The center will be a new subdivision of Cimishli District Hospital and part of a national network coordinated by the Ministry of Health, which currently includes 14 early intervention centers. In 2024, more than 5,700 children and their families received multidisciplinary support in these facilities.
The centers offer more than 40 types of specialized services, including: early family psychological support, interdisciplinary group counseling, developmentally oriented pediatric assessment, early verbal speech stimulation, sensory stimulation, speech therapy services, physical therapy, and psychoeducational counseling. All services are covered by the compulsory health insurance system through contracts with the National Health Insurance Company.
The development of the network of early intervention services in Moldova is carried out in accordance with the National Plan for 2023-2027. Currently, new centers are in the process of formation in Chisinau (Central Territorial Medical Association) and Anenii Noi.
Early access to adequate services means more chances for children to reach their maximum potential in physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
The inauguration of the Center in Cimislia was attended by the Minister of Health Alla Nemerenco, representatives of UNICEF Moldova, the German Embassy in Chisinau, Lumos Moldova, local authorities, representatives of the Mayor’s Office, the Center’s team, parents and beneficiaries.
