Businesses near the border are transferred to a new regime

Businesses in the border zone within 1 km will be transferred to the notification regime. Instead of obtaining permits, entrepreneurs will be able to simply notify the Border Police about the start of their activities, and if there is no response within 10 days, the notification will be considered automatically valid.

The notification can be submitted in three ways: through the electronic platform e-Permis with an electronic signature, by e-mail of the Border Police unit or in person in paper form.

According to the draft prepared by the Ministry of Interior, the notification will have to specify the type of activity, data of employees and the list of transport used. If violations are detected, the entrepreneur will have up to 30 days to eliminate them.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 250 economic agents operate in the Moldovan border zone, more than half of which are engaged in agriculture. They are also tourism, insurance and trade companies. The authorities claim that the new model will cut bureaucracy, reduce business costs and speed up the launch of projects without reducing the level of security at the border.
