Thus, the restrictions on the carriage of liquids in hand luggage have been considerably relaxed – previously, passengers departing from Bucharest airports could take on board containers with a maximum volume of 100 ml.
Latest generation technologies
The relaxation of restrictions was made possible by the introduction of new, much more sensitive scanners of the latest generation. According to CNAB spokesman Theo Postelnicu, passengers will not have to remove containers of liquids from their luggage during screening. “Bucharest airports have joined the most modern European security standards. Moreover, many major European airports have not resorted to such measures,” Digi24 quoted him as saying.
The measures concern only those passengers departing from Otopeni and Baneasa airports. For transit flights, the restrictions remain the same – liquids must be in containers with a volume of up to 100 ml and placed in transparent bags.
Otopeni International Airport remains quite popular among Moldovan citizens as a place of departure, although official data are not available.
