According to the permanent representation of the European Union in Moldova, the Bardar bakery is one of the beneficiaries of EU grants, and its products are also exported to Germany, France and Ireland.
In order to enter European markets, the company expanded its production capacity, reduced energy costs by installing solar panels, passed all stages of certification in accordance with ISO international quality standards in the food sector, ensured compliance with customs procedures and organized logistics for uninterrupted delivery of products abroad. To this end, the bakery received EU grants for modernization and energy efficiency and, later, funding from the Livada Moldovei project of the European Investment Bank.
It should be noted that Lidl is a German supermarket chain present all over Europe. It is the largest retailer in Romania with a network of 400 outlets. In 2024, the network’s turnover amounted to 24 billion Romanian lei.
Brutaria Bardar Bakery has been operating since 2000 in the village of Bardar, Ialoveni district, which is 20 km away from Chisinau. It produces more than 40 types of products. It exports one third of its supplies, particularly to Romania, where Moldovan baked goods are sold in about 170 stores, including Kaufland.
