According to Anneta Ganenco, the chairperson of the organization, at the moment legalization (i.e. inclusion in the official register of plant protection and fertility improvement products) can be carried out in two ways. The first one is the procedure of homologation of preparations in the Republic of Moldova, which requires the involvement of research structures, it is long and expensive (testing and registration of one product will cost its supplier to the Moldovan market of PPPs about 4 thousand euros).
The second way is automatic legalization on the Moldovan market by authorized structures of the Republic of Moldova of those agrochemical preparations that have already passed the procedure of testing and legalization in the European Union. It is also possible to extend to the berry sector the range of application of some active substances of those products, which are already officially included in the register of products authorized for use on other fruit crops in the Republic of Moldova. Berry producers consider the latter option as the easiest and fastest.
The industry association notes that the expansion of the arsenal of berry crop protection products in the state register of the Republic of Moldova is also necessary for berry exporters to be able to obtain GLOBALG.A.P., ISO, HACCP certificates without unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles, which are necessary to ensure the supply of fresh and frozen Moldovan berries to supermarket chains in the European Union.
