“Our business started 25 years ago with classic products, then consumer tastes shifted to healthier options, as well as an increased focus on packaging, durability and versatility. All these years, our customers have provided feedback that helped us realize that the company has potential not only locally but also internationally,” says Victor Nistorique, manager of Bardar Bakery.
In 2022, the company started exporting its first products to Romania, and in 2024 it expanded exports to Germany, Ireland and France. Of the entire range exported to the EU, placindas are the most popular, with a 70% share in total exports.
The “breakthrough” year for the company was 2023, when its products hit the shelves of Kaufland România.
In 2023, the bakery recorded an 80% increase in export revenue, which accounted for 20% of total revenue. According to Victor Nistorike, by 2028 exports are planned to reach 50% of turnover.
