Aventura Parc administrator Stefan Makar and his lawyer Olga Iovu demand to cancel the tender announced by Moldexpo on April 4 to dismantle the carousels. They believe that this measure is illegal and intend to challenge it in court. The right to use the land plot obtained by Moldexpo a month ago from the State Property Agency is also questioned, as the land dispute has not been resolved yet.
“The head of Moldexpo publicly announced a tender for the dismantling of the park for the sum of one million lei. This is an illegal measure as the case is in court and nothing can be evacuated,” lawyer Olga Iovu told a press conference. She said that a petition has already been filed to ban the removal of the equipment, and the court hearing is scheduled for April 9.
“We have to warn that any economic entity that will participate in this auction risks being held criminally liable,” the lawyer said. According to her, there are no specialized companies in the country that can dismantle such equipment without damaging it, and that any interference would cause huge damage to the enterprise.
Stefan Makar claims that for seven years he has been trying unsuccessfully to get a lease agreement. And the rent price from the initial rate of 17.4 lei per square meter has been increased almost 50 times, reaching the amount he cannot cover – 984.5 lei per square meter.
In addition, he was allegedly asked to take over the management of the entire plot, instead of paying only for the area used. According to the lawyer, the amount requested for the rent is neither logically nor legally justified.
Olga Iovu presented invoices at the conference, which prove that the company paid the rent on time at the old rates – 17.44 lei per square meter.
In her turn, the acting director of “Moldexpo” Zinaida Popa claims that the land occupied by “Aventura Park” has been used for seven years without the necessary right. At the same time, she specified that the company allows citizens to judge “the so-called investments of the owner of the entertainment equipment” and believes that he “skillfully juggles emotions and distorts facts”.
Recall that attempts to close the rides were made back in 2017.
