Auditors have a new oversight committee

According to the government’s decision, the council, approved for a three-year term, included seven people. Of them: two representatives from the Ministry of Finance (Cristina Ixari, State Secretary, and Cristina Iacim, Chief Consultant of the Division of Accounting Policies and Audit in the Corporate Sector), one representative from the National Bank of Moldova (Victor Shushu, Head of the Division of Infrastructure, Payments and Supervision of Other Institutions), one representative from the Court of Accounts (Head of the institution Tatiana Shevciuc), one representative from the National Commission of Financial Market (Head of the Issuers and Capital Market Division Alexandra Munteanu), one representative from the academic environment specialized in audit (Galina Lushmanskaya) and one representative from the business environment (Ruslan Harea).

It should be noted that the Audit Oversight Committee makes decisions to fulfill the functions of the Public Audit Oversight Board. It approves the budget and regulations, directors and tariffs for the Council’s services.

The committee also monitors the certification processes and continuous professional training of auditors and ensures that auditors comply with the rules established by law.
