We are talking about smart glasses, a compact pendant and a new version of AirPods. All gadgets will work in conjunction with the iPhone and use visual analysis of the environment so that the voice assistant can react to what the user sees.
Smart glasses without a display – a bet on AI
The launch of mass production of glasses is scheduled for the end of 2026, and the official release is expected in 2027, writes Lifehacker. The novelty will be a response to Meta devices, which the company is developing together with Ray-Ban and Oakley.
Unlike competitors, Apple is designing the frame independently. The glasses will have built-in speakers and microphones, a high-resolution camera for photos and video, as well as an additional sensor for AI functions. There will be no screen: control will be built around voice commands and context analysis.
With their help, the user will be able to receive calls, listen to music, ask Siri questions and get tips “according to the situation” – for example, to find out information about dishes, objects around or receive reminders at the right moment.
While the early prototypes required connection to the iPhone and an external battery via a cable, in the current versions the battery is already built into the case.
According to insiders, a version of the glasses with a display is also in development, but its appearance is expected much later.
Pendant with a camera and “permanent” vision
In addition to the glasses, the company is working on a compact pendant format device. According to The Information, the gadget will be comparable in size to the AirTag and will be able to be worn around the neck or attached to clothing.
In fact, it will be a mini camera with a microphone to call Siri, which constantly analyzes the surrounding space. Inside will place its own processor, but the main calculations will be performed on the iPhone. According to preliminary data, the release of the device is possible next year.
AirPods with visual capabilities
Another direction is the development of the AirPods lineup. It was previously reported that Apple is considering integrating low-resolution cameras directly into the earbuds. In conjunction with artificial intelligence algorithms, they will be able to analyze the environment around the user and expand the scenarios of interaction with the devices.
There is no official confirmation of these projects yet. Nevertheless, if the plans come to fruition, Apple will simultaneously enter the market of wearable AI gadgets in several categories at once – from audio devices to accessories with constant visual analysis of the surrounding world.
