An attempt to blow up a pipeline with gas from Russia in Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban by telephone that explosives had been found near a gas pipeline from Serbia to Hungary.

This is reported by RBC with reference to the post of the Serbian president on Facebook.

“I have just finished a phone conversation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during which I informed him about the preliminary results of the investigation conducted by our military and police regarding the threat to the critical gas infrastructure connecting Serbia and Hungary,” Vucic wrote.

The Serbian side will continue investigating the incident and will coordinate this process with Hungarian colleagues, Vucic promised.

The Hungarian prime minister also said of the conversation. “Serbian authorities have discovered a powerful explosive device and the means to detonate it at a crucial gas infrastructure facility connecting Serbia and Hungary,” he wrote on social media. The prime minister called an emergency meeting of Hungary’s defense council.
