According to the National Center for Sustainable Energy, 1,656 vouchers were given to families with two children, and 311 families of elderly people over 63 years old. They were selected according to the data provided during registration on the platform compensatii.gov.md.
The beneficiaries of the program purchased 952 refrigerators and 1015 washing machines with high energy efficiency class. Replacing old appliances with modern ones can reduce energy consumption and save at least twice on light bills.
The amount of the voucher is 6000 lei and it covers up to 70% of the cost of a new appliance – refrigerator or washing machine. Besides, the participants of the program receive free delivery and removal of old appliances for recycling.
In total, since the launch of the program, about 39,000 families in Moldova have used vouchers for large household appliances. In 2025 alone, more than 24,700 vouchers were redeemed.
The EcoVoucher program was developed by the government with EU support and is implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy within the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Moldova (E4M) project implemented by GIZ and funded by the governments of Germany, Norway, Denmark and the EU.
