The Cabinet of Ministers decided to approve it at its meeting on July 21. The project.gov.md platform provides open access to up-to-date data on development projects and ensures control over their implementation and spending.
The creation, administration, support and development of the system will be ensured at the expense and within the financial means allocated to the State Chancellery in the laws on the annual budget, as well as from other sources stipulated by the legislation.
According to the idea of the developers, the platform will facilitate coordination between state institutions, partners and other stakeholders in the process of implementing development projects. This will allow for continuous monitoring of the progress of project implementation and its impact on the economy, in order to confirm adjustments in the process of implementation in a timely and documented manner.
In this context, it is worth mentioning that the government last week amended the decision on the procedure of applying tax and customs privileges for the implementation of ongoing technical and investment assistance projects. The list of projects and grants that benefit from tax and customs exemptions is constantly updated, as tax exemption is a precondition for some donors to transfer the advance payment or the first tranche of the grant to the beneficiary. The changes were made due to the launch of 81 new foreign aid projects in Moldova and the inclusion of new beneficiaries in the document. At the same time, 245 completed projects were excluded from the list.
