The results of a blitz survey conducted by Logos Press among the heads of sectoral associations of agrarian profile of the Republic of Moldova show that managers in agriculture are needed in different ways – for work with investors, clients and personnel, for sales and purchases, for the development of foreign branches. In “connection” with accountants are specialists in office management (in many enterprises these functions are combined by one employee). Among agronomists, professionals in the field of plant nutrition and land reclamation/irrigation are especially in demand.
Of course, this does not negate the very large need of Moldovan agriculture for day labor for seasonal work – maintenance of perennial plantations, manual harvesting, etc. It is believed that such activities do not require high qualification or special skills. However, the processes of harvesting high quality fruits or, for example, work in high-tech greenhouses and Pergola vineyards are labor-intensive and require strict adherence to regulations.
Earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova reported that out of 32.8 thousand vacancies registered in the first quarter of 2025, agriculture accounts for only 2.5% – 917 potential jobs.
