Before the current agricultural season, the maximum area for rape (about 75 thousand hectares) was allocated in the country two years ago.
As noted in the Association of Grain Producers and Exporters Agrocereale, judging by the feedback from dealers-suppliers of planting material, last year rape seeds were sold in sufficient quantity for sowing – 130 thousand hectares.
However, due to the fact that the end of summer and the first half of autumn last year was dry and the sowing campaign was late, agricultural producers used not all the seed stock. Nevertheless, rape sowing for the current year’s harvest reached a record level.
The condition of rape crops by the beginning of summer is assessed by the Association specialists as satisfactory and even good in a number of regions of the country.
