Hard Rock Cafe is a global brand known for combining American cuisine with authentic pieces from the world of music.
According to a report published on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the franchise will be owned by the newly established HRC Restaurants SRL, a company fully controlled by Sphera.
“The group intends to open five Hard Rock Cafe restaurants in Brasov, Timisoara, Iasi, Cluj and Chisinau within five years, starting in 2026,” the company said.
According to the press release, this strategy aims to strengthen Sphera’s position in the catering market by expanding its portfolio in the international segment of well-known entertainment brands.
Sphera Franchise Group operates more than 175 restaurants under brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell in Romania, Moldova and Italy.
In Moldova the group has been present since 2008 only with KFC restaurants. The franchise for these establishments is held by the local company U.S. Food Network, in which 80% of the authorized capital belongs to Sphera Franchise Group and 10% to former Prime Minister Dorin Recean. In 2025, the prime minister received 1.1 million lei in dividends from its operations.
