This was reported by the general mayor Ion Ceban in social networks. He noted that the locations are analyzed by a commission consisting of municipal councillors from all factions and then put to a vote.

Thus, the placement of kiosks and street outlets is carried out exclusively on the basis of open auctions organized by the local public administration, which excludes any suspicion of corruption or non-transparent practices.

While a few years ago there were about 2.9 thousand kiosks in Chisinau municipality, by the middle of 2025 their number has decreased to 585. At the same time, their placement has become much more orderly, and the kiosks themselves have become more integrated into the urban environment.

During this period, a new version of the regulations on the placement of street retail outlets was also developed, and actions to visually transform the city continue.
