From September 15, residents and guests of the capital can order a cab directly from the app. The company, which has been operating in Moldova since 2021 with an electric scooter rental service, is expanding its portfolio by launching a cab call service.
Bolt is a global platform for active mobility, operating in more than 600 cities in 50 countries and offering ride ordering, electric scooter and electric bike rental, food delivery and car rental services.
A key element of Bolt’s cab service (ride-hailing) is the integration of electronic payments directly into the app. While card payments are becoming increasingly common in the local market, this feature provides additional transparency and convenience, supporting both passengers and drivers.
In addition, the company lists among its benefits: optimized routes that save time and money for drivers and passengers; in-app calls and messages to quickly discuss boarding locations; a profanity filter in chat to ensure safe communication; display of trip and vehicle information; and the ability to add profile photos for easier identification.
The process of launching Bolt Taxi in the Republic of Moldova took about a year and included financial and technical adjustments, as well as coordination with authorities to obtain the necessary permits.
“The launch of Bolt in Moldova is not only a modern digital service, but also the integration of our country into the global mobility map. Both residents, investors and foreign visitors can use the same international app to order a local cab. This is an important step to ensure the comfort of users and to build the image of Moldova as a connected destination that meets the world standards,” said Natalia Bejan, Director of the Investment Agency.
