This is the largest investment in the equipment of scientific institutions in the last decade, claims the Ministry of Education and Research.

Minister Dan Perciun emphasized that the project is supported by the World Bank.

According to him, the modernization of infrastructure is key to improving the competitiveness of the scientific system.

“Certainly, our research and innovation system needs modern equipment that will increase competitiveness. Because our strategic goal is to be as competitive as possible within the European research system and, ultimately, through these investments to give our researchers the opportunity to fully realize their potential at home,” Perciun said at the press conference.

The call for projects is divided into two lines of funding: the creation of new national research infrastructures and the modernization of existing ones. Priority areas include agriculture, information and communication technologies, energy, exact and natural sciences, biomedicine and biopharmaceuticals.

The maximum project duration is 30 months. Applications will be evaluated in three stages: first an administrative review, then an independent peer review and finally an evaluation by a panel of specialists.
