This was announced by the administrator of the enterprise, Sergiu Spoiale. “The deadline for submitting bids expired on December 17. We have four commercial proposals, each of them will be scrutinized. The signing of the contract with the participant who offered the best proposal will mark the beginning of construction works,” Spoiale specified.
The bidders’ offers are as follows: Eurostil Construct – 159.88 million lei; Estate Invest Company – 163.05 million lei; Leviatan Design (Romania) – 164.31 million lei; Colass SA – 177.08 million lei.
According to Spoiale, in the first stage, the modernization envisages the expansion of the terminal and the renovation of operating equipment.
“About 150 million lei will be spent to increase the terminal area by 5,000 square meters. Subsequently, we will talk about the modernization of the whole equipment, and the total amount needed for these processes will amount to about 800 million lei,” the airport administrator explained.
After the reconstruction is completed, the airport will increase its capacity by 1.5 million passengers. As a result, it will be able to serve up to 7.5 million passengers a year.
Spoiale also confirmed that all the expenses will be covered exclusively from the airport’s own funds, without attracting external financing.
