The total value of investments is over 3 billion lei. These funds will be allocated through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the financing will primarily cover water supply and sanitation (48 settlements will be connected to modern water supply and sewerage services). In the tourism sector, 19 projects will be implemented to increase tourist attractiveness. Revitalization of the urban environment envisages 15 projects to modernize parks and recreation areas. Major repairs and reconstruction will be carried out in 6 social and cultural buildings. In the sphere of business infrastructure, 6 projects to support entrepreneurs and stimulate the local economy have also been approved. And one project will be implemented under the National Program “European Village”, Issue II.
Currently, 7 out of 34 projects approved for financing have already been signed for the Central Region. Among them are the rehabilitation and development of the infrastructure of tourist sites in the Calarasi district, repair of the access road to the tourist site of the “Playul Fagului” Nature Reserve (Radenije Vechi), etc. For the Southern Development Region, 6 out of 20 projects approved for financing were signed. Among them are the creation of the regional tourist center Veleni, reconstruction of the House of Culture in Cimislia, modernization of the regional wastewater treatment plant by increasing its capacity in Stefan Voda, etc. For the North region, 7 contracts out of 20 included in the Program have also been signed. They provide for the modernization of the infrastructure of public spaces and educational institutions in the revitalization zone of Balti municipality (2nd stage); development of the ecotourism route “Zamca” in the area of the Prut River, the villages of Pererita, Briceni district, and Briceni region. Briceni district; construction of a water pipeline branch in Drochiai district and connection to the Soroca-Bălţi water pipeline (stage 1), etc.
