The new duties on goods exported by Moldova to the United States should enter into force on August 1, 2025, but Moldova requested a transitional period. This would allow the Moldovan authorities to continue the dialog with the US side in order to reach a bilateral agreement, including on the possible reduction of the duties. The electoral period of parliamentary elections has started in Moldova. Formally, the election campaign will start only on August 29, but it feels like it has been going on for a long time. Back in May, the government launched an information campaign “Moldova Poate” (“Moldova can”). The State Chancellery signed a contract with the winner of the tender – SCP PARSEC. The initial estimated total value of the contract was 5 million lei, while the actual value was 4 million 280 thousand lei. According to the contract, the company undertook to ensure about 1 million YouTube videos, more than 200 thousand posters and at least 65 billboards throughout the country.
