The 45th specialized exhibition MOLDAGROTECH opened in the international exhibition center Moldexpo on March 12. More than 60 exhibitors from 10 countries presented their products and technologies. The exhibition will last four days.
In 2024, the total value of agricultural products produced in Moldova amounted to about 41.37 billion lei. This is 1% less as compared to 2023, and the decline with respect to 2021 is about 14.5%. Taking into account the inflation rate and fluctuations in prices for vegetable and animal products, the conclusion is obvious – in real terms, the value of agricultural products has decreased and the sector is stagnating.
The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) inspected 88 wineries in 2024 (82 in 2023) and 40 specialized warehouses (39 the year before). A total of 186 state control inspections were carried out, including 58 unannounced inspections, not counting participation in joint inspections with other bodies.
Overall wine consumption is currently declining worldwide. And this trend will continue. However, there are some types of wines for which demand is growing. Among them is pet-nat. Why don’t we produce and sell what is fashionable and in demand?
Recently, the leaders of eight non-governmental agricultural sectoral organizations sent an “open letter” to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova with a proposal to withdraw and annul the draft Law No. 69/06.03.2024 on the organization and functioning of the Chambers of Agriculture.
